In the words of Galileo, "I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." Just a quick painting to stay in practice. It was great using a big brush again and just going with my gut on what to paint.
I did not know where this piece went, but uncovered it during some spring cleaning today! This little wood piece was my first attempt at woodburning, and a tribute to Casablanca. Luckily, my line work with woodburning is improving, but it was fun seeing where I began and taking a small trip down memory lane today.
After a week or two, I have finally had enough time to finish this commissioned piece. The chance to paint has been long overdue and though it's a bit rusty, a classic cottage scene was an enjoyable way to ease myself back into painting again.
Today, caffeine was a dire need as well as some sketches. Unfortunately it felt a tad like a game of Monopoly, every idea seemed to hit a dead end and send me back to the beginning. Tomorrow is a new day though, and hopefully better desgins will be the result!
